The John Stewart Trio Fantasy Camp is now in it's NINTH successful year. This year's Camp will not be a somber occasion. We will be meeting to
celebrate the life and the music of John Stewart, the finest songwriter of our lifetime. This year, in addition to performing the songs of the Trio; Campers will be able to perform John's songs backed by John's band
consisting of Dave Batti, John Hoke, Chuck McDermott and others. This will be the most fitting tribute we could do in John's memory.
In addition, Steven Donaghey, Jeff McDonald, Tom Lamb will be helping out on those great Trio songs and The Great Tom DeLisle will be joining us in his usual role as emcee.
We look for this Camp to focus on the music. On Thursday night we will
feature a performance by John's Band along with some surprises. Friday and Saturday night will be featuring the Campers onstage both in solo
performances with the band and also in Trios performing either John's songs or songs from the Trio years. The night continues after the show with more discussion, songs and music at the resort bar and some of the private suites.
While John's laugh and his big hat will be missing, it will be a Tribute to him that we will all be performing. His music will live forever.
At this time it is not known if Nick will be able to attend. He is
recovering from hip surgery. Josh Reynolds has told us that Nick is hoping to be ready for Camp. Nick loved performing with all of the Campers and we are hoping he will be able to be there.
In addition to the "scheduled" events, you also get your very own Trio stripped shirt and a video of your perfomances! Special surprises, great camaraderie, and interacting with the band and the other
Campers adds even more fun to an incredible weekend. Find out why some Campers are coming back for the eighth time!
And did we mention special surprises? How about surprise guests? You never know who will show up at Fantasy Camp. Over the past
eight Camps, the Campers have had visits from folk greats like Travis Edmondson, Henry Diltz, George Grove, Bobby Haworth, Bill
Zorn and even Bob Shane himself who treated the Campers and audience at FCVI, FCVII and FCVIII to a live performance with Nick and John. While we can't promise who will drop by this year, we can promise you the most fun you've had since you first became a John Stewart/Trio fan.
Wait a minute! You say you can't play a guitar or sing?
IT DOESN'T MATTER!
Some of our happiest and most successful Campers couldn't play an instrument and only sing in the shower. They just got on stage
anyway, sang with John and Nick and came away smiling ear to ear. If you have ever sung along to your favorite John Stewart/Trio song on the
radio, you can be a Camper. The emphasis at this Fantasy Camp is fun, fun, and more fun.
All money from the Camp, after expenses, will go to Buffy Ford Stewart.
The cost of the John Stewart Trio Fantasy Camp is $2000. This price includes all Camp activities and three nights
